The Execution of Haiku

A haiku's execution is swift ... involving two strokes ... either 5-7&5 or 5&7-5.

This is a 5-7&5 cut where the first cut is the first line while the second and

third line (forming a single sentence) comprise the second cut:

after hurricane,
    sand castles will return
       sooner than homes ...

An example of the 5&7-5 cut is the haiku below.  The first cut comprise of the

first and second line, while the third line is the second cut:

a flash of sun
  from executioner's blade
     how cold I feel ...
