peaches in their prime
canned in still and thick darkness
have you waited long?
~~~
an old grey seagull
looking away from sunset
just another day ...
~~~
under the shadows
autumn drizzle streaming down
hulls of green pecans
~~~
indecisive clouds
wind picking flower petals
to rain or not to rain ...
~~~
mid-autumn raindrops
scattering the sidewalk crowd
the beggar grumbles
~~~
disabled beggar
before I could decide
I had walked past him
~~~
today, the pink rose
heaves my heart the heaviest
half a lifetime gone
*There is a rose garden on the UCI campus that I walk pass occasionally. I usually slow down a bit when I walk by it and take several deep breaths when the flowers are in full bloom. Their fragrance and brightness reminds me how brief a person's "peak" in life can be.

picking up a brush
he dips the tip in black ink
drooping autumn leaves
*A poem inspired by Lu Chi's (c.a. 200AD) "Art of Writing".

quivering shadows
from a flickering candle
how swift the days pass ...
~~~
belabored breathing
will I ever catch up with
the rest of the world?
